Engle tops the field for the third year in a row and claims 1st, 2nd and 5th at the $65,000 Merrill Lynch Cleveland Grand Prix

For the third year in a row, Margie Engle claimed victory aboard Hidden Creeks Wapino at the Merrill Lynch Cleveland Grand Prix. The scoring was USEF Table II, Sec 2 (a) Time First Jump-Off.

Of the twenty starters who came to the ingate to navigate the Steve Stephens designed course, six managed a clear round and advanced to the second round tie-breaker. Engle was aboard three of the six qualifiers.

In the second round, Engle managed the only double clear within the time allowed on Wapino in 44.264 seconds. Although Engle was also clear on Oscar, she accumulated 3 time faults along the way.

McLain Ward who had the best time in Round 2 aboard Halbi D’ariane, also had a rail to finish in third place.
