At Hickstead, Molly Ashe (USA) aboard Lutopia takes Sunday’s Queens Cup while Roger-Yves Bost (FRA) riding Ideal De La Lodge claims the King George V Gold Cup
Molly Ashe provided one of two double clear rounds in the Bunn Leisure Queen Elizabeth II Cup, a Table A (Art. 273.3.3) competition at a height of 1.6m to win the Blue Ribbon.
Five of the thirty-two starters went clear in the first round and made it to the jump off including two American Riders: Anne Kursinski and Molly Ashe.
Kursinski who had an effortless ride in round 1 riding Roxana, was first to go in the jump off and when the ride finished two rails were knocked down and she finished the ride with 8 faults.
Great Britain’s Jane Annett aboard Irish-bred Cullawn Diamond was second to go and while she finished with all of the rails standing, a slow time of 53.33 left the door open for the three competitors that followed.
Jo Pay (GBR) was next on Randi’s Gold but two mistakes had her finish with a time slightly slower than Kursinski.
Angelique Horn (NED) and Blauwendraad’s O’Brien were next to last to go and finished the Jump Off in the fastest time (43.71), but a rail at the final fence cost her the prize.
Molly Ashe, last in the ring, claimed victory when she went clear on Lutopia for the second time and bettered Jane Annett’s time by more than seven seconds.

The King George Cup was also a Table A (Art. 273.3.3) competition at a height of 1.6m
Six of the thirty starters in the first round made it to the jump off. No Americans were entered in this year’s competition.
Only Frances Roger-Yves Bost and Germany’s Heinrich Engemann managed to go double clear. Bost time in the jump off was more than three seconds faster thant Engeman giving him first place and the 10,000 £ prize.
