Skelton and Kutscher fall short at ultimate world record attempt

19 highly motivated riders started the Equifirst Trophy in an attempt to win the €50,000 jackpot put up by the organisers for any rider who cleared the 2.20m in the testing Six Bars discipline. European Champion, Marco Kutscher on Cash, and Nick Skelton on Russel, went five rounds breaking the 2 m barrier and finishing first equal. Daniel Deusser on Upsilon d’Oquier and Francois Mathy Jr on Undercover Agent followed tied for 3rd place, making the 1.90 m mark.

The evening opened in the presence of Her Majesty Queen Fabiola, with a dedication ceremony to reigning World Champions, Jos Lansink (Jumping) and Felix-Marie Brasseur (Attelage), followed by Jean Francois Pignon and Acepalla group Reset.
