FRANKLIN, TENN-OCT. 30, 2006- Fox Den Interiors & Gifts of Franklin, Tenn., and West Palm Beach Fla., is proud to announce that Linda Luster has been honored as the Official Artist for the 123rd National Horse Show and Family Festival (NHS), held November 29 through December 3 at the Palm Beach Polo Equestrian Club in Wellington, Fla. Fox Den exclusively represents Ms Luster in Florida.
A resident of Rocky Ridge, MD, Ms Luster was chosen from 15 artists who submitted entries. She will now apply her distinctively rich style to the familiar image that has been used for the National Horse Show poster for over 100 years-a bob-tailed horse with a rider in a top hat and hunt coat jumping over a post and rail fence. “I am thrilled to be selected as the official artist,” said Luster, “I love to create art, whether it be painting, designing graphics or taking photos. The chance to combine all three is a dream come true.”
“We are just ecstatic,” said John C. Hinkle II of Fox Den. “Linda is such an incredibly wonderful person. We got along so well as friends that is was only natural to carry that into a business relationship.”
“They are very professional and very likable,” added Ms Luster of her new reps. “How many times do you find those two traits in the same person? We just got on famously.”
Ms Luster is available for commissioned projects in Florida exclusively through Fox Den (contact John or Robert T Bruce at 866.FOXDEN1). Reproductions of her work are available at Fox Den’s mobile show room, which will be on the grounds throughout the National meet. And as benefit of her official prize, The National Horse show will also provide the artist with her own vendor tent where she can meet and greet patrons during the week-long event.
Beginning her artistic pursuits as a child, Ms Luster honed her skills under the tutelage of painter Jack Clifton before earning a degree in Fine Arts from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She began her equestrian art by producing pencil portraits (three of which have appeared on the cover of The Chronicle of the Horse). Her oils on canvas have focused on horses and horse people. Not surprisingly, she is as accomplished an equestrian, as she is an artist. Ms Luster began showing Hunters and Event horses before eventually focusing on Dressage and training professionally for 16 years. She has trained horses and riders to FEI level and earned a silver medal with the United States Dressage Federation. To see more of Ms Luster’s work visit www.lindalusterstudio.com.
