LIPICA 2011 WORLD CUP DRESSAGE QUALIFIER FEI CDI3* - W /CDIJ /CDIY

More than 100 horses and 70 competitors from 18 countries compete this weekend in FEI World CupTM Dressage Qualifer FEI CDI3* - W /CDIJ /CDIY competition in Lipica, Slovenia. Among them also multiple World Cup finialist and last year’s Lipica winner Richard Davison from Great Britain, 2008 Bejing Olimpic Games attendant Michael Rapcewicz form Poland and others.

Three competitions allready finished today, with Grand Prix tasks starting tomorow. Today Austria’s Ulrike Prunthaller with Bartlgut’s Aktionär won the first place in St. Georges task with excellent 70.737 %, followed by Pia Gabriel on Al Pacino also from Austria with 67.316 % and Marc-Peter Spahn from Belgium with Fryso Huys Annichjeand and the score of 67.289 % on the third place. In the competition for junior riders the first place went to Austria as well with Lisa-Maria Kebler, Italy’s Martina Spada was second and german rider Sarah Runge was third. The best junior rider of the day was Ricardo Sanavio from Italy with 66.895 %.

Lipica has been hosting international dressage competitions ever since 1974. Dressage is particularly important to the Lipica equestrian tradition – the Classic Riding School of the Lipica Stud Farm was established over 40 years ago for training Lipizzaners in the classic art of dressage. In 2008, Lipica added to dressage and show jumping a new discipline to the list of equestrian competitions in Lipica – driving. Having already organised three successful World Cup qualifiers, Lipica is proud to host the 2011 FEI World Driving Championship in spetember tuhis year. They are sure, the Driving Championship participants will be able to join the ranks of the countless equestrian athletes who hold fond and happy memories of Lipica.
