HARRODSBURG, KY—APRIL 10, 2007— This week, Flashpoint Media clients closed out the Atlanta Spring Classic at the Conyers International Horse Park with a flurry of ribbons and division championships.
Steven Heinecke, new pro rider for the Monroe, NC-based Hunters Lane, had another favorable week. Heinecke was Champion in the 2nd Year Green Hunters aboard Kiara Barnett’s Southern Style and was also Reserve Champion in the same division with the Don Stewart/Alise Oken-owned Alisette.
Also scoring for Hunters Lane: Alise Oken, who piloted Alisette to Reserve Champion honors in the Small Junior Hunter 15& Under division. Sister Lucille Oken also had another stellar week in Atlanta with her awesome pony Hi Lite. The horse and rider entry took 1st place in both the Small Pony Hunter Confirmation Class and in the NCE Small Pony Equitation 2ft3 Class.
Daniel Geitner, of the Aiken-based DFG Stables piloted the Margaret Edge-owned Remedy to Reserve Champion honors in the Regular Working Hunters. The renowned rider and trainer was a busy man during the closing-day Grand prix, placing three entries in the top 12. Geitner was 3rd with Mrs. Charles Bostwick’s 8-year-old Rhinelander mare Sympa, 10th aboard the Sherry Cooke-owned 11-year-old Selle Francis gelding Miraj, and 12th with Kyle Register’s dynamic 8-year-old Argentine Warmblood gelding Trading Places. Geitner and TP, by the way, also took 1st place in the NHJL Open Jumper Classic earlier in the week.
Also scoring for DFG: Tara Bostwick and her horse Libertas, who earned Reserve Champ honors in the Large Junior Hunter 16-17 division and also placed 3rd on the NHJL Large Junior Hunter Classic.
This week Flashpoint welcomes a new client, 11-year-old Reid Patton, who hails from Nashville, Tennessee where she trains with John Roper. Reid and her mount Bikini Beach took the Tricolors in Conyers in the Medium Pony Hunter Division. Last week, Reid piloted Bells ‘N’ Whistles to Championship honors in the Small Pony Hunters.
Elizabeth Towell Boyd and her brother, Jack Hardin Towell, Jr, of the Camden, S.C.-based Finally Farm, took a down week from showing to prepare for the Aiken Spring Classic, where competition will begin on April 18.
Also showing in Aiken will be DFG Stables, Hunters Lane Farm, and Michael Tokaruk, whose new farm, the Aiken-based Tokaruk Show Stables, just opened its doors for business on April 1st. Michael and his brother Luke were recently featured in The Aiken Standard.
