NASHVILLE, TN.—APRIL 13, 2007— Robbi Meisel, President of the Kentucky-based Flashpoint Media Services, is happy to announce that leading pony competitor Reid Patton of Tennessee has joined the Flashpoint Media client roster.
Reid, 11, is based in Nashville, TN., where she a student at the Ensworth School. The budding equestrian balances her studies and home life with the riding and showing of her five best friends: Undawnted, First Edition, the mare Star Command, Bells ‘N’ Whistles, and he first medium pony Bikini Beach.
Despite less than two years in the show ring, Reid has already earned numerous accolades and Championship honors in the Pony Divisions, including MTHJA Champion with Star Command in her first season of showing in 2006. Most recently, she took the Tri Colors in both the Medium Pony Hunters and Small Pony Hunters at the Atlanta Spring Classic aboard Bikini Beach and Bells ‘N’ Whistles, respectively.
A dedicated competitor, Reid trains locally with the well-known show judge John Roper- who also trained her mother, Robin Patton, as a young rider-and Kelly Mullen. “John has been a part of my life for more than 30 years,” said Mrs. Patton. “He has been a mentor and a father figure to me, and having him train my daughter is very special.” According to Patton, Ms Mullen has also been very influential in improving Reid’s riding skill. “She demands a lot and Reid really seems to rise to the occasion. John and Kelly have both helped Reid come a long way in a short period of time and is she is having a blast.” Adds Reid: “Riding with John is a great experience. He is funny and he trains in a way that relates to the ‘real world’ he has a great sense of humor, and I am laughing all the time.”
“It’s so exciting to have Reid with us,” said Meisel. “She’s a truly devoted equestrian with a spectacular future ahead of her. She’s the perfect addition to our growing family of riders.
“Riding is my life,” said Reid, who will next compete in Memphis before taking four of her five ponies to Devon in May. “I can’t picture myself doing anything else.”
