FLASHPOINT MEDIA SERVICES: THE WEEK IN REVIEW

AIKEN, S.C.—MAY 7, 2007—Flashpoint Media Services clients spent Kentucky Derby weekend showing off their equine stars in the final leg of the Aiken Spring Classic, which concluded May 6th at the show grounds at Ford Conger Field in Aiken, S.C. This week the blue ribbon spotlight fell on Elizabeth Towell-Boyd, of the Camden, S.C.-based FINALLY FARM when she and her dazzling gray gelding Rockefeller took 1st place of Friday’s Wide Open Jumper Welcome Stake. The horse and rider team were also in the ribbons (6th place) in Sunday’s $30,000 Carolina Company Grand Prix.

In other divisions, Towell was part of a three-way Championship tie in the Level 4 Jumpers aboard Paxton Mendelssohn’s Noble Carthago and was also Reserve Champion in the Green Working Hunter-First Year aboard the Caroline Morrison-owned Ursula.

Brother Jack Hardin Towell, Jr. also earned Tri Color honors this week in the Pre-Green Hunter 3-foot-3 Division riding Sarah Ward’s Saint Patrick. (Finally Farm client Ward, meanwhile, was Champ in the Large Junior Hunter 16-17 Year Old Division with her horse Blink.) Hardin was also a well-placed 5th and 8th in the Grand Prix aboard Andrea King’s Sea Cloud 2 and his own Iago du Quesnoy, respectively.

Speaking of the $30,000 Carolina Company Grand Prix, Flashpoint’s Michael Tokaruk, of the Aiken-based TOKARUK SHOW STABLES, took 2nd place in the prix aboard his Holsteiner gelding Lord Byron.

Another Aiken local Daniel Geitner, of DFG STABLES, had a string of successes in both the Jumper and Hunter rings. Geitner swept the Level 5 Jumpers with Rex Marquette’s Fargo (Champion) and Andrea Guzinski’s Pura Vida (Reserve). He also earned Champion honors in the Level 6 Division aboard M/M Rex Marquette’s Palermo. And in the Pre-Green Hunter 3-foot Division, Geitner was Reserve Champ riding Ann Anastasio’s Theodore.

DFG client Tara Gail Bostwick was also a dual Reserve champ this week, first in the Large Junior Hunters, 16-17 with her horse Libertas and again in the 15-17 Equitation Division aboard her horse Mondo Di Landri.

Congratulations to all!

The riders of HUNTERS LANE FARM, based in Monroe, N.C., were on hiatus from showing while getting ready for the Devon Horse Show in late May. Sergio Campos is also at his home base, Florida’s LONGWOOD EQUESTRIAN CENTER, preparing young horses for competition in Atlanta in two weeks.
