Debbie Stephens Wins Farm & Ranch Magazine 1.45m Jump-off at 30th Annual I Love New York Horse Show

Lake Placid, NY—July 4, 2007—Debbie Stephens of Palmetto, FL rode All Star to victory in the $7,500 Farm & Ranch Magazine 1.45m Jump-off at the 30th annual I Love New York Horse Show. None of the 13 horses in the field was able to master the 15-jump first-round course at the North Elba Showgrounds. Four entries that were able to complete the course with only one rail down then competed in a jump-off to break the tie for first place.

Stephens, a two-time Pan American Games team Bronze medalist, was the only one to ride without penalty over the eight-jump tiebreaker course which gave her the win.

Placing second with four faults in the jump-off and a time of 39.545 seconds on Corlett was Hillary Dobbs of Sussex, NJ. Third place went to Christine McCrea of Suffield, CT who also finished the jump-off with four faults but in a slightly slower time of 40.804 seconds on Triomphe de Muze. Fourth place went to Marilyn Little of Frederick, MD on Aston Martin.

In the day’s other feature class, Christine McCrea of Suffield, CT won the WPTZ-TV News Channel 5 1.35m Jump-off, topping a field of 64 horses with two clean rounds and a jump-off time of 35.127 seconds on Rioletto. Second went to Laura Chapot of Neshanic Station, NJ who finished the jump-off clean in 37.076 seconds on Capri and third went to 1996 Atlanta Olympic team Silver Medalist Peter Leone who had a clean jump-off ride in 37.121 seconds on Real Eagle.
