WELLINGTON, FL - July 30, 2025 - The USET Foundation is proud to announce that since the Kick Off Gala in Wellington, Florida, on February 10, 2007, donors have contributed more than $2 million to the Campaign to Achieve Competitive Excellence. The Campaign has now reached $12 million towards the goal of $20 million.
At the Kick Off Gala, USET Foundation President and CEO Jane Forbes Clark announced that leadership gifts from donors had already brought the Campaign’s total to $10 million and that the USET Foundation would raise the remaining $10 million over the next two years.
“That we have raised $2 million in just six months since the Campaign’s public launch speaks of incredible individuals who are passionate about our sport and want to give our U.S. equestrian teams the enthusiastic support our sport enjoys,” said USET Foundation Executive Director Bonnie Jenkins. “We are confident that we can raise the remaining $8 million over the next 18 months.”
The funds raised through the Campaign to Achieve Competitive Excellence are dedicated to preparing U.S. equestrian teams, horses, and athletes for success in international competition. To date, the Campaign has contributed funding for U.S. athletes competing in the 2006 World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Germany, where the U.S. earned a record nine medals, and the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where the U.S. earned eight medals.
The Campaign also helped support U.S. equestrians competing in the 2007 Rolex FEI World Cup(TM) Finals for dressage and show jumping in Las Vegas, NV, the 2007 Samsung Super League in eight European locations, and Eventing competitions at the CCI 4* level.
“Another important aspect of this Campaign,” Jenkins added, “is putting the funding into place for our Developing and Young Riders. We must be preparing our rising stars and giving them the opportunity to experience the rigors of international competition and riding as part of a ‘team’.”
Upcoming events the Campaign will support include the 2007 FEI Reining Masters Final, the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, and the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games(TM) Kentucky 2010.
About the Campaign to Achieve Competitive Excellence
The Board of Trustees of the USET Foundation embarked on the Campaign to Achieve Competitive Excellence as a fundraising program to support U.S. equestrian athletes. A Leadership Gifts Campaign launched the ambitious four-year fundraising program, and generous donors responded by contributing $10 million by the end of 2006.
The funds raised through the Campaign assure that the resources are in place to implement comprehensive international programs and secure every competitive advantage as the U.S. heads for Hong Kong and the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The Campaign is designed to build upon recent achievements of U.S. equestrian teams and seeks commitments of $25,000 and higher to be paid over the four-year quadrennial period. These contributions help support the seven High Performance disciplines by:
Providing the means to fully implement a comprehensive USEF High Performance Strategic Plan;
Increasing the number of competition and training grants, thereby providing opportunities for Elite and Developing athletes to compete against their peers internationally;
Expanding the Developing/Young Rider programs to give U.S. rising stars the chance to gain confidence and invaluable experience as a member of a ‘team’ and to prepare the next generation of representatives for the United States equestrian teams;
Maintaining and expanding the current coaching programs, employing the world’s most qualified and experienced coaches with the reputations and leadership skills to inspire U.S. athletes to reach their fullest potential;
Preserving and protecting the historic Gladstone, New Jersey, Headquarters, archives, and approved U.S. Olympic Committee multi-discipline training facility for current and future generations.
The United States is among the world’s most respected equestrian powers with a legacy that includes 38 Olympic medals, 73 Pan American medals, and 49 World Championship medals. To maintain this tradition of excellence, the Campaign to Achieve Competitive Excellence provides the resources that allow riders, drivers, and vaulters to earn medals in international competition and maintain the preeminent position that has taken the U.S. decades to establish.
