Long Time Stadium Jumping Associate Millard Scott Bracken Passes Away at 47

Wellington, FL – June 30, 2025 – Scott Bracken, a twenty-seven year associate with Stadium Jumping, Inc., passed away on Wednesday at the age of 47 following a valiant battle with kidney cancer. When he was not working at the Winter Equestrian Festival, Bracken was employed as an Activities Director for a nursing home. He is a former employee of Eastern Airlines where he worked as a Steward / Flight Attendant.

Bracken, born on November 5, 1958, is survived by his mother, his three (3) sisters, and his two (2) brothers. His father has since passed away.

Scott Bracken was among the longest tenured employees of Stadium Jumping, Inc., the nation’s largest producer of grand prix equestrian sporting events. He began his career with Stadium Jumping in 1981 as a member of the clerical staff and quickly worked his way up to senior management. Scott was responsible for Hospitality and VIP Club operations at multi-million dollar Stadium Jumping venues across the United States. He directed a constantly changing staff of caterers, servers and bartenders, and oversaw all aspects of food and beverage management.

“Scott was one of my most trusted friends and associates,” said Stadium Jumping, Inc. Founder and President Eugene R. Mische. “Scott provided a quarter of a century of service to our exhibitors and to the equestrian community. Almost all of the work he did for Stadium Jumping was behind the scenes, and he leaves behind some big shoes to fill.” Mische added, “It is a sad day, to lose someone so young and so full of spirit, and all of us at the Winter Equestrian Festival will miss his presence.”

Michael Morrissey, CEO of Operations for Stadium Jumping, Inc. said, “We’ve lost a key member of the Stadium Jumping organization, but most importantly we’ve lost a long time and wonderful member of our family. Scott will be missed by all who knew him.”

“Scott’s greatest gift was his ability to connect with anyone, from heads of state to the CEOs of Fortune 500 companies,” recalls Gina Johnson, a former director of development for Stadium Jumping. “All you had to do was tell him what you needed. It didn’t matter whether your group was made up of local school kids or famous actors, Scott made it happen. He was charming and perfectly attentive to every guest.”

Scott was also legendary for his lightning-fast wit, uncanny voice impersonations and penchant for practical jokes around the office. “Just follow the sudden roar of laughter,” Johnson said, “and you’d find Scott. He was a sweet, funny friend and a wonderful colleague. No matter how impossible the deadline or task, you knew Scott wouldn’t let you down.

“He’d give you the occasional pause just to keep things interesting,” Johnson said with a smile. “But with Scott, you knew you were golden.”

Kim Tudor, Stadium Jumping’s Sponsor Relations Director said, “He was my closest friend for twenty five years. Scott was the first person I met when I came to work at the company, and our working roles intersected closely for that entire time. I was privileged to work with him. His laughter and great humor made my job so enjoyable and so easy. I’m going to miss him very much.”

Mason Phelps Jr., President of Phelps Media Group International, Inc., who worked with Bracken on a daily basis during the Winter Equestrian Festival and the National Horse Show said, “I have had the pleasure of working with Scott for many years and have known him personally for longer than that. Not only will I miss his animated personality, but also his complete dedication to his job. Scott had too much living still to do to lose his life to cancer at such a young age. This is a sad day for all of us.”

Kiki Umla, Director of VIP Services for Stadium Jumping, Inc. related, “I lost my best friend. What more can I say.”
