2011 Influence Award to Spruce Meadows

(SPRUCE MEADOWS, Calgary, AB): The Greater Calgary Chapter of Meeting Professionals International, a volunteer organization consisting of some 71 Chapters and Clubs world-wide, has awarded the 2011 Influence Award to Spruce Meadows.

“Each year, we celebrate a person or organization within the Calgary community that has made outstanding contributions to increasing meetings’ awareness in the Calgary area.” Explained Leanne Calderwood, President-Elect, MPI Greater Calgary Chapter. “We are excited to present the 2011 Influence Award to Spruce Meadows. Through (their) work in bringing international events and media to Calgary, as well as expanding and renovating (their) meeting facilities, we feel Spruce Meadows is very deserving of this honour.” Calderwood continued.

Kurby Court, Vice President, Special Features, Spruce Meadows responded “It is truly an honour for Spruce Meadows to be recognized as a venue of influence. What makes this award very special for our team is that it is recognition by our peers for the work we do.”

The presentation will take place at the National Meeting Industry Day event at the BMO Centre, Stampede Park April 14, 2011.
