TUCSON, AZ (February 27, 2026) A lightning-fast, double-clear round for Santiago Rickard and Jet Star was all it took to win Sunday’s $25,000 Footing Authority Grand Prix during the third week of the HITS Arizona Winter Circuit. Out of a starting field of 27 horse/rider combinations, Rickard was the fastest of three riders who returned for the jump-off course.
Rickard had the envious last to ride position in the jump-off and took advantage of it, stopping the clocks at 36.996.That time broke the Great American Time to Beat set by Paul Rohrbauch and Jack of Hearts. The horse/rider combination was first to go in the jump-off and stopped the clocks at 39.470.
Sandwiched between two clear rounds was JJ Atkinson and Monsanta. They had eight faults which landed them in third place.
The 2007 HITS Arizona Winter Circuit will run for another four weeks at the Pima County Fairgrounds in Tucson, Arizona. Show jumping will resume at HITS Arizona on Wednesday, February 28, and the next Grand Prix show jumping event will be the $25,000 Footing Authority Grand Prix scheduled for Sunday, March 4.
The six-week event has been a staple of West Coast circuits for many years. HITS took over production of this circuit in 1991. The HITS Arizona Winter Circuit offers a full range of competition classes for beginners to advanced riders. Exhibitors gain valuable experience in the show ring under the eye of some of the country’s top judges.
