Eight (8) riders rode clear in the CN Reliability Grand Prix all vying for the first stake in the CN Precision Series. Lauren Hough (USA) won that honour and it was her second win in the International Ring in as many days.
The CN Reliability was the last opportunity for Canadians to make a case for a spot on the Pan American Team. There were definitely some surprises as Captain Canada Ian Millar didn’t automatically qualify.
The three Canadians who have earned themselves a spot on the team for the Pan American Games are; Karen Cudmore, Jill Henselwood and Mac Cone. Two spots remain which will be named later by Chef D’equipe Torchy Millar.
The TransCanada Parcours de Chasse was the last event for Saturday of the Spruce Meadows “National” Tournament. For Kyle King it was his second ever win in the Spruce Meadows International Ring. King placed first on his mare Estival and was fourth on his gelding Spitfire. After his a tremendous showing King commented, “It was great, my plan was to peak for the weekend. So hopefully I peak tomorrow.”
