Ottawa, Ontario - The second qualifying round for the Kubota Cup Canadian Show Jumping Series Eastern Division will take place Saturday, July 29 in Bromont, Quebec.
Taking part of the 30th Anniversary celebrating International Bromont as the 1976 Olympic Equestrian Site, the Kubota Cup Grand Prix will be run under FEI approval, a standard which provides world ranking status to high performance equestrians. There are just a few FEI events available in Canada to riders, making this Kubota Cup Grand Prix a ‘triple treat’ for participants.
The Kubota Cup Series offers an extensive reward system for Canadian equestrians with points earned from first through last place. In addition Canadian riders earn national Jump Canada Series points and the riders who place according to FEI regulations reap valuable World Ranking.
The winner of each Kubota Cup Grand Prix, in addition to the prize money and trophy cooler, also takes home a complete SoftStall therapeutic bedding system for the horse worth $675 and a Sereno Top Ride ultra-suede saddle pad from Ogilvy Horse.
The horse and rider who accumulate the highest Kubota Cup points throughout their division wins the title of Kubota Cup ‘Regional’ Canadian Champion and presented with a RTV900 Utility Vehicle as an added incentive from title sponsor Kubota Canada Ltd.
The Kubota Cup Eastern Division has four qualifiers; Kubota Capital Classic, Ottawa, ON; International Bromont, Bromont, QC July 29; Kubota Collingwood Classic, Collingwood, ON August 20; with the final qualifier and Kubota Cup Eastern Canadian Championships taking place October 14 in Halifax, Nova Scotia at the Maritime Fall Fair.
Wrapping up the Kubota Cup Western Division will be the Twin Oaks Derby hosted in Richmond, BC this August 13 with a tight horse race playing out between 21 year old rookie Emily George, who is leading Jonathan Asselin by 8 points and challenging in a close 15 point spread is the defending 2005 Western Kubota Cup Champion, Tamie Phillips and Lucas.
At the conclusion of the Eastern and Western Divisions, each Champion will also receive tack from CWD Saddles valued at $2,250 and a trio of high quality orthopedic saddle pads worht $400. The runner-up in each Division will receive tack from CWD Saddles valued at $1,500. Each Champion will take home as their own a Kubota RTV Utility Vehicle valued at $15,000 along with an Italian Crystal Trophy.
The winner of the National Finals in Toronto in November will receive a custom made saddle (and tack) from CWD Saddles valued at $7,500 and a trio of high quality Ogivy Horse Saddle pads worth $500. Providing a $30,000 Travel Bursary to the top five Eastern and top five western horse and rider qualifiers, Kubota Canada Ltd extends their generousity and belief in the equestrian athlete by offering to each participant in the $60,000 Kubota Cup National Finals Grand Prix a percentage of the purse money.
