I have a quick question if you guys don't mind answering. Why is show jumping an Olympic sport and not show hunting? I understand some of the basic differences between the two (I recently started taking lessons) but I would like to know if one is harder than the other. Why are there cash prizes for jumpers but not for hunters? Do top level hunters cost the same as top level jumpers or is it different because there are not big prizes?

THANKS!

I'm going to take a shot and assume it's because Hunters is all opinion whereas jumpers is a definite. One judge in the hunters could just hate a horse and love another, but in jumpers it's all numbers and faults something you can easily figure where you stand in the pinnings
