Tricolor Ribbons Flutter In The Breeze For Over The Hill Farm
January 23, 2026
Balmy Florida weather returned to Green Cove Springs for the Jacksonville Winter National show weekend, and the horses and riders of Over the Hill Farm took advantage of the warm temperatures. They seized three more championships, a reserve championship and two Hunter Classics to add to the two championships and one reserve championship won earlier in the week.
Ashley Kennedy brought three horses to the Amateur Owner 18-35 Hunter division. Gold Edition, whose barn name is Monkey, proved the best of the three on this day. The pair captured the division championship with a first, two seconds and a seventh over fences and a second under saddle. Kennedy commented, “Monkey’s real easy. He’s quiet. The one error we had was mine, not his. Nothing bothers him; he just goes around.” Gold Edition and Ashley also finished fifth in the Amateur Owner Hunter Classic with scores of 82 and 81.
The reserve championship in the Amateur Owner 18-35 Hunter division was won by Ashley Kennedy on Mosaik, a horse that she rode for the first time this weekend. Together they received two firsts and a fourth over fences and a seventh under saddle. The pair also captured the Amateur Owner Hunter Classic with scores of 83 and 88 for a total of 171. Kennedy said, “We just purchased Mosaik this past week, so I did a practice ride on Friday and decided to enter him. He rides different than Monkey. He pulls a little, but I like that.”
What D’Ya Know and Lee Cesery won the championship in the Amateur Owner 36 and Over Hunter division for the third week in a row at the Jacksonville Winter Series. The pair received two firsts, a second and a third over fences and a third under saddle. Cesery explained, “He’s really gotten into the groove. Our program really seems to be working. He was just incredible on Saturday [with two firsts].” They also finished first in the NCE Amateur/Owner Equitation class and were fourth in the Amateur Owner Hunter Classic.
Role Model and owner/rider Courtney Rodrigue won the championship in the Children’s Hunter 15-17 division this weekend. Together they brought home three firsts over fences and a first under saddle. Rodrigue said with a smile, “Everything worked out this weekend. We had good rhythm and good distances. It was fun!” They also placed second in the NAL Children’s Hunter Classic with scores of 86 and 75.
Pollock, ridden by Caroline van den Berg for sister Laura van den Berg, won the NAL Children’s Hunter Classic with scores of 80 and 83 for a total of 163. “He was so consistent. He just floated to the first oxer. He really helped me out,” said van den Berg. They also scored respectable ribbons in the Children’s Hunter 15-17 division with a first, fourth and fifth over fences and a third under saddle. In the NCE Children’s 15-17 Equitation, Caroline van den Berg finished second riding Pollock.
In the Pre-Green Pony Hunters, Wingetti, owned by Bill Schaub and the Jeb Group and ridden by Megan Massaro, won a first and three thirds over fences and a second under saddle. In the Short Stirrup Hunters, Another Beau, also owned by Bill Schaub and the Jeb Group but ridden by young Parker Wright, brought home a first, three thirds and a second under saddle.
Over the Hill Farm riders will compete next at the Jacksonville Winter A to Z show in Green Cove Springs, Florida.
