British Show Jumping Great David Broome is Honored at Olympia

Eric Van der Vleuten wins the Bewely Homes Santa Stakes

David Broome, one of show jumping’s iconic figures, is the 2007 recipient of the Ryan’s Son Trophy, presented every year by John and Clare Whitaker to a major contributor to the sport.

David was a mainstay of the British team at the height of its success. He became a household name when he won Britain’s first individual Olympic medal, bronze, at the 1960 Olympics on Sunsalve, for which he was voted BBC Sports Personality of the Year. (Read on…)
