Advertising Pricing:

HunterJumperNews uses the Industry standard Cost per thousand for all but its Sponsorship advertisements. Abbreviated as CPM, the letter “M” in the abbreviation is the Roman numeral for one thousand. CPM is used by most Internet marketers to price ad banners, buttons and rectangles. An advertiser signs up for a specific number of impressions, that is, the number of times an ad is displayed to the visitors. HJN requires certain minimums commitments to begin an advertising campaign. The advertiser can also select maximums so that a campaign advertising budget can be established and implemented.

General Advertising Specifications
With the following HJN Ad Specs, you can discover where ads can run on HJN, what’s allowed on particular HJN pages, and what the specs are for all the different HJN ads.

Advertisement Placements:
Advertisements are placed on all pages at HJN. Sidebar advertisements run on both the left hand and right hand bars. Advertising sizes are measured in pixels. Advertising design is outside of the cost of Advertisement placement. Design work is available and is billed at $120/hr. in 15 minute increments.

Advertising Standards
HunterJumperNews.com adheres to the IAB standard in all of their advertising. The following IAB Interactive Marketing Units (IMU) standard sizes are offered:

Text Link advertisements are also offered. The text Links are offered in 20, 30 and 60 character packages. All characters, including spaces are counted.

Sponsorships
Corporate Sponsorships are also available. A Sponsorship entitles the Sponsor to a twice monthly Page 2 display of a Corporate Authored Article promoting the Corporate Sponsor’s Product or Service. While Media Representatives may be sponsors, the agent may only promote his own organization and not his clients.

Top Bar and Bottom Bar: The Top Bar and Bottom Bar advertisement is offered in 728×90, 468×60, 234×60 and 120×60. The Bottom Bar advertisement is at the bottom of the page.


Side Bar: The Side Bar Advertising is offered in 120×240, 120x 90, 120×60, 88×31, 125×125, 160×600 and 120×600 as well as Text advertisements.

Footer: The footer is located in the center of the main display area. Footer Advertisements can be 336×280, 234×60, 120×60 and Text.

Technical Ad Specifications

Image Guidelines:
Images Supported: GIF, JPEG, FLASH
Max File Size for Standard Creative work is 20 K; for Flash it is 30K
Animation Allowed: Yes
Animation Time: 15 seconds limit
Audio: Not allowed at this time
Alternate Text: 30 characters maximum
3rd Party Ad Serving is not allowed at this time
Animation: Looping/Flashing can continue upon load for a period of 15 seconds maximum.
Linking URL: Linking URLs must be domain name based and cannot be the IP address (i.e., http://207.123.456.78/)

Flash Image Guidelines:
HJN allows Flash versions 6 & 7
30KB download is the maximum Image Size.
Recommended Frame Rate is 12 frames per second. Frame rate may not exceed 18 frames per second. Banners that exceed 18 frames per second will not be accepted.

If the browser does not support Flash 6.0 and above, the alternate image will be served (see submission guidelines).

Flash 6 Specifications
The Flash 6 swf file can be published as compressed.
Accessing the user’s microphone or Webcam is not permitted.

Flash 7 Specifications
All Flash 6 specs apply to Flash 7 ads.
Streaming video is allowed when using FLV streaming format. FLV files are treated the same as additional swf files of no more than 4 at 100k each. The use of Clip board is not permitted.

Floating Elements
The floating element is not currently allowed.

Submission Guidelines
Ads must conform to specifications outlined herein. Elements not meeting specifications will be returned for revision, which may delay the launch date.

For Flash ads, an alternate image conforming to the designated gif/jpg specifications must be provided for use in the event that the user’s browser does not support Flash 6.0 and above

HJN Advertisement Policy
Advertisements cannot mislead the user. For example, they may not mimic or resemble Windows/Mac/Unix dialogue boxes, error messages, or the like.

Advertisements cannot resemble HJN content. Advertisement must have a border.

Advertisements cannot contain graphics that simulate interactivity (i.e., drop down menus, search boxes, etc.) without that functionality actually existing. No fake or simulated HTML interactivity is allowed.

Advertisements cannot mimic news headlines in design, tone, 3rd person sentence structure, or topic.

All advertisements will be reviewed by HJN and are subject to approval by HJN before placement on the site.

HJN reserves the right to remove any advertisement which is deemed annoying and/or harmful to our users at any time.

The sponsor of any advertising message appearing on HJN must be clearly identified either on the ad itself or, if the ad is smaller than an 88×31 button, on the resulting first level jump page.

Policy Guidelines for Ads that Collect Personal Information:

Where the advertisement or its link collects personal information, those ad units will need to:

1) Clearly identify your organization.
2) Provide a direct link to your privacy policy, adjacent to the submit button.
3) Clearly identify the purpose for collecting the information.

Additional disclosure may be required, depending on the type of advertisement. Please see your advertising representative for more information on required notices. HJN might also label such ad units with “ADVERTISEMENT”.
