This will be the third year the GCT stops in Estoril, and with the experience of previous years it is sure to be the best!”
From 10 to 12 July, the amazingly green showgrounds of Estoril will be home to the fifth leg of the Global Champions Tour, presented by CN and CN WorldWide. he Cascais Hipodromo Municipal will be filled with the world’s best combinations of riders and horses, all trying to overcome the course which will be built by Frank Rothenberger. The German course designer will also co-design the courses at the Olympic Games in Beijing with Olaf Petersen. Petersen attended the International Jumping de Monte-Carlo where Richard Spooner went home with €100,000.
30 Of the top 34 riders in the Rolex Rankings have confirmed their participation, and all are looking forward to going to this beautiful city, with its bright blue sea, and rich heritage.
Laura Kraut mentioned that she is looking forward to going, because it is an excellent show. “I cannot think of a better show to confirm my participation to, I am really looking forward to ride into that arena and jump the fences.”
After the International Jumping de Monte-Carlo, Denis Lynch is back on top of the Global Champions Tour Rankings. He gained15 points with his 4th place in Monte-Carlo, and jumped back to number 1 in the overall rankings, having a total of 47 points. Jos Lansink is ranked second with 42 points, followed by the winner of Cannes, Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum who has 36 points. 9 Of the top 10 riders of the GCT Ranking will be present at the CSI 5* Estoril. The GCT’s media partner Eurosport has arranged for a live broadcast, which allows viewers at home to follow the CSI Estoril and all the beautiful things this event has to offer.
