SEVENTH LEG OF THE GLOBAL CHAMPIONS TOUR IN LA BELLA ITALIA

Valkenswaard, the Netherlands 28/08/2025 – In two weeks time riders and horses will start off the seventh leg of the Global Champions Tour, presented by CN and CN WorldWide, in Arezzo which is located in beautifull Tuscany, Italy.

From September 11th till 13th the top 30 riders from Rolex ranking list number 90 have been invited to compete. The Global Champions Tour Grand Prix on Saturday September 13th is the very last opportunity to gain points. Afterwards the top 25 riders of the GCT ranking list will be announced to compete in the GCT final during the Athina Onassis International Horse Show in Sao Paulo.

Leading rider of the GCT ranking Nick Skelton (GBR) as well as numbers two and three Meredith Michaels Beerbaum (GER) and Edwina Alexander (AUS) have confirmed their presence at the well equipped Arezzo Equestrian Centre of Jump Italia. Also competing will be Robert Whitaker (GBR) and Jessia Kürten (IRL), who are currenlty in 24th and 25th position. Ludger Beerbaum (GER), Rolf Göran Bengtsson (SWE), Gerco Schröder (NED), Michael Whitaker (GBR) and Laura Kraut (USA) will for sure make it a very exciting battle for the last chance of getting to the GCT final.

Althought making it to the final is important to a lot of riders for sure the Global Champions Tour Grand Prix on it’s own is attractive enough to make the trip to Italy. As in every other GCT Grand Prix there is a total prize money of 300.000 euro’s to be won, of which 100.000 euros go to the winner. If Meredith Michaels Beerbaum can repeat her victory of last year in Arezzo or if Daniel Deusser is still in very good form after his win in Valkenswaard remains to be seen.

Eurosport will again broadcast the Global Champions Tour Grand Prix. The 75 minute long broadcasting is set for September 13th at 21.00 hrs.
