The Tokaruks Top Traders Point; The Galis at Pony Finals

August 18, 2025

August 18, 2025–The Aiken, S.C.-based Tokaruk Show Stables earned impressive ribbons at the Traders Point Hunt Charity Horse Show, which concluded Sunday in Zionsville, IN.

Michael Tokaruk earned the Tricolors in the Regular Working Hunters this week with Linday Strafuss’s extraordinary gelding Polaris. And aboard the stable’s own Surreal, Tokaruk was again Champion in the Baby Green Hunters. This marks Surreal’s 6th consecutive division title.

“In five shows he’s been champion six times,” said Tokaruk of the 5-year-old Hungarian warmblood that was imported from Germany in May. “In Europe, he only jumped maybe 10 times in his life. But he’s a born hunter. He’s also very sweet,” added Tokaruk. “He’s great in the barn and has a terrific attitude.”

In the Jumpers, Tokaruk earned several top ribbons with Angela Woodbury’s Shakespeare, including a 6th place in Open Jumpers Level 7, while brother Luke Tokaruk earned a 3rd and 4th place in the Open Jumpers Level 5 with Elizabeth Grimes’s Roxanne.

Client Lindsay Strafuss and her horse Jet Set took a 2nd place U/S in the Large Junior Hunters (16-17) and a 5th in the 15-17 Equitation over fences, and Ashley Keith was 4th in the THIS National Children’s Medal with her horse Lochland.

And Flashpoint sends special kudos to Sophia Gali who competed in her very first USEF National Pony Hunter Finals this weekend in Lexington, KY. Gali, 10, showed the GaliCo Equine-owned Miss Australia in the Small Pony Hunters and had two successful rounds over-fences and U/S, earning scores in the high 70s and mid 80s. There were 95 small ponies in the competition.

“It was a fun course,” said Sophia of Saturday’s over-fences challenge. “ It looked very difficult, but when you were out there it was not that hard. It was good for my pony,” she added of the expansive course set in the Kentucky Horse Park’s recently renovated Walnut Arena, “because she can really lengthen her stride.”

“It was really fun to be here,” said Sophie, whose sister, Miranda showed at Pony Finals in 2006. “I love to hang out with all my friends!”

Congratulations to all!
