Federico Sztyrle lands a triple for Wolffer Estates in the $25,000 Ariat Grand Prix at HITS Saugerties

SAUGERTIES, NY (June 1, 2025) — Christian Wolffer, owner of Wolffer Estates and three of the horses in Thursday’s $25,000 Ariat Grand Prix, will have plenty of reasons to raise a glass of the Wolffer Estates sparkling wine that he makes at his Sagaponack, New York vineyard and horse farm. His rider, Federico Sztyrle swept first, second and third places in the class on Thursday afternoon, riding out with the blue, red and yellow ribbons and a total of $16,250 in prize money. McLain Ward wins ther $75,000 Grand Prix of Devon

DEVON, Pa.—McLain Ward on his Athens Olympic team gold medal mount Sapphire won the $75,000 Budweiser Grand Prix of Devon with the only clean round in the five horse jump-off from the starting field of 28.

Ward was first to go in the jump-off and made an incredibly tight turn from one to two, a turn two of the others also made, but it was so tight it caused the second placed Hidden Creek’s Perin, ridden by Margie Engle, to grab himself and tear off a shoe. (Read on…)
