Meet Lexington’s Mounted Patrol Unit

Only a small number of American cities can boast of a mounted police force. Fittingly, the Horse Capital of the World, Lexington, Ky., is one of those cities.

When the Downtown Economic Commission began work to revitalize the Lexington area, it was decided that a more present police force was necessary to restore order to the district. It is through this necessity that Lexington’s Mounted Patrol Unit was formed on a trial-basis in 1982 – with only one officer and a horse. (Read on…)

2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games Announces Driving Course Designer

Officials with the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games have announced Richard Nicoll (USA) as the Driving course designer.
