Olympic cross-country course designer hits out at “interference” from the FEI

Germany took individual and team gold at the Olympic Eventing finale at Sha Tin stadium in Hong Kong this evening, but not without a terrific battle to the very last.

The Australians challenged for the team honours with all of their might, but had to settle for silver while the British stood firm to take bronze, and it was Hinrich Romeike and the extraordinary Marius who won through to take the individual title head of America’s Gina Miles and McKinlaigh, with Britain’s Tina Cook on Miners Frolic claiming individual bronze. With her total focus on a performance that would earn her a medal, American Gina Miles vaulted from 5th to 2nd with two perfect rides. Only Bronze medalist Kristina Cook (GBR) would match that performance going from 10th to 3rd. Read more

All 57 horses presented at the final veterinary inspection for Eventing were passed fit to compete by the Ground Jury this afternoon, although there were some anxious moments for both America’s Gina Miles and Australia’s Sonja Johnson. Read more
