Ireland finishes 1-2 in Barcelona Grand Prix - USA’s Kraut is 3rd.

Jessica Kurten (IRE) won the Spanish Grand Prix at Barcelona last evening aboard Lady Georgina Forbes’s nine year-old mare Castle Forbes Cosma. Billy Twomey (IRE) finished in second place aboard Tinka’s Serenade. Third place went to USA’s Layra Kraut riding Cedric.
Forty-Four Riders from eighteen different Nations came to the starting gate for the Grand Prix that is one of the oldest in Europe. Eleven riders advanced to the second round over Javier Trenor’s 13 fence course. Kurten’s time of 38.06 provided her with a comfortable 1.62 second victory over Twoomey who was just .07 seconds ahead of Kraut.
Kurten won a car for her efforts.
