Capital Challenge Kicks Off With Equitation Championship Weekend

Upper Marlboro, MD - September 25, 2025 - The Equitation Championship Weekend, presented by BigEq.com, kicks off the 16th annual Capital Challenge Horse Show.

Riders may compete in Saturday’s age classes to warm up for, and with the hopes of winning, the coveted blue ribbons in Sunday’s premier classes: the North American Junior and Adult Equitation Championships; and the Taylor Harris Insurance Services National Children’s Medal Finals.

Saturday’s classes are held indoors and out, giving riders the opportunity to assess their competition.

The course designer for the Equitation Weekend will be Mike Rheinheimer of Willoughby, OH.

This year’s Capital Challenge Horse Show will run from September 26 through October 4 at the Prince George’s Equestrian Center in Upper Marlboro, MD. The horse show is conveniently located off of Route 4, just seven miles east of the Capital Beltway.
