$75,000 Grand Prix of Tampa Title Goes To Leslie Howard and Youp

Leslie Howard of Westport, Connecticut, and her mount Youp connected for the third time this season, racing to an electrifying win in the $75,000 Grand Prix of Tampa, presented by Kilkenny/ICH, CSI-W. Junior Hunters Rule at Winter Equestrian Festival in Tampa

The eighth week of the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF), the Tampa Bay Classic, wrapped up competition today. The highlights in the Main Hunter Ring included Amateur-Owner, Junior, and Adult Amateur Hunters.

In the Amateur-Owner 18-35 Hunter division, Prove It and Krista Weisman earned the championship ribbon. Prove It won both over fences classes on Saturday, was fourth in the under saddle, and was fifth in both over fences classes on Sunday. USEF Show Jumping Short List for 2006 World Equestrian Games and Samsung Super League Tours Announced Today

Following the completion of the USEF Selection Trials on Saturday, the United States Equestrian Federation today announced the ten horse and rider combinations on the short list for the U.S show jumping team to compete at the World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Germany this August. According to the selection procedures, the top six finishers from the Selection Trials are placed on the short list along with four subjective horse and rider combinations recommended by the USEF Selectors to the Show Jumping High Performance Committee and then approved by the Ad Hoc Committee on Selections. Meredith Michaels Beerbaum and Checkpoint win FEI World Cup Jumping at s-Hertogenbosch (NED)

It was a contest between Germany and Great Britain for Sunday’s FEI World Cup Jumping Grand Prix at s-Hertogenbosch (NED). Nine riders managed the initial course without penalty. In the Jump Off, four of those riders were again clear. Germany’s Meredith Michael Beerbaum aboard Checkmate took the win with a .34 advantage over brother-in-law Luther riding Gladdys S. (Read on…)
