Shane Sweetnam Finds Room at the Top in the Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate Open Jumper Speed Derby at the Hampton Classic Horse Show

Bridgehampton, NY-August 31, 2007- Shane Sweetnam of County Cork, Ireland, prevailed in the $15,000 Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate Open Jumper Speed Derby at the Hampton Classic Horse Show on Friday morning, riding Victor III, owned by Spy Coast Farm. They had the luck of the Irish on their side because although they had a rail down, they were still able to win in a time of 76.54 seconds. Read more

Another Orange Victory

The orange wave that has hit European horsesport made itself today at the 2007 FEI European Dressage Championship in La Mandria. After 42 years of unchallenged reign and 21 European team titles for Germany, The Netherlands were crowned the 2007 European Dressage Champions on a total score of 222.083. Hans Peter Minderhoud / Exquis Nadine (70.458); Laurens Van Lieren / Hexagon’s Ollright (68.542 – drop score); Imke Schellekens-Bartels / Hunter Douglas Sunrise (74.167); and, of course, Anky Van Grunsven / Keltec Salinero (77.458 ) made history today. Jump Canada Announces Nations’ Cup Team for Spruce Meadows ‘Masters’

Ottawa, Ontario — Jump Canada has announced the Canadian Show Jumping Team that will contest the $350,000 BMO Nations’ Cup at the CSIO Spruce Meadows ‘Masters’ Tournament to be held September 5-9, 2007, in Calgary, AB. Read more

For the first time since 1965, the Team Dressage Gold Medal is not in the hands of Germany. A superb ride by Anky Van Grunsven and Keltic Salinero (77.458) and a great performance by Imke Schellekens-Bartels and Hunter Douglas (74.167) vaulted the Netherlands into first place. Read more
