Louisville, KY—United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) President David O’Connor officially kicked off the Federation’s annual meeting of the minds at the Downtown Marriott in Louisville, KY. The presentation of the USEF Awards for Media served as the start of a long weekend of activities. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil—The last of the three equestrian disciplines contested at the XV Pan American Games – show jumping – wrapped up at Deodoro Military Complex outside of Rio de Janeiro on Sunday. The final results were cause for celebration for Canada and Brazil. Team USA’s Cara Raether and Ublesco finished in eighth place, the highest spot earned by an American combination on the last day of the XV Pan American Games. Read more

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil—It was a battle between the host country—Brazil—and the teams from Canada and the United States for the team show jumping medal today at Deodoro Stadium outside Rio de Janeiro. Fittingly, it was the host country’s most popular equestrian athlete—Rodrigo Pessoa—that was the last to go in the two-round series of Nations Cup jumping that sealed the deal for a Team Gold medal. Team USA Sits in Fourth Place in Team Show Jumping at XV Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro—Some 47 Pan American Games show jumpers entered the arena at Deodoro Stadium outside of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Thursday morning to begin the first of two days of team competition. Leading the way for Team USA was rider Lauren Hough aboard Casadora. The last of the four to go was Todd Minikus and Pavarotti. Team USA ended the day in a surprising overall fourth place after the first team qualifier on a computed score of 10.2. Read more

Hickey Delivers Gold, Sammis Takes Silver, in Debut International Competition at the Pan American Games Dressage Individual Finals

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil—It was a double-medal day for Team USA at Deodoro Stadium as Maryland’s Christopher Hickey aboard Regent won the coveted Gold medal on a two-day averaged score of 70.725% after performing his freestyle before an appreciative crowd. New Jersey’s Lauren Sammis, who had led the scores at the end of the Team competition, finished in Silver-medal position (69.925%) after delivering an entertaining freestyle aboard Sagacious HF.
