Following several months of waiting and several different qualifying horse shows, at last we have Teams: 5 to be exact. The “big” Team will travel to Europe and compete against top show jumping Teams across the European continent.

The Ranch and Coast Horse Show has grown and expanded to numbers no one originally thought would happen. This year’s show was much larger than last year and last year was a record. Tents for horses were located in areas that for years have only contained trailers, trucks, and spectator parking. Read more

Spring has come to Southern California and no better way to kick it off than to spend a week near the beach in Del Mar, California showing horses in a very special venue. Del Mar race track show arena is among the best in the country when it comes to showing jumpers. A classy show ring, banks of exceptional lights, beautiful jumps, a world class course designer and great footing. Put that together with top West Coast riders and the week becomes more of a working vacation.

HITS 2007 and into the future

The site plan for the new HITS Desert Circuit facility was unveiled Saturday night at a by-invitation-only party next to the Grand Prix field in Indio. People attending the party learned not only of the site plans, but the dreams and goals of the people building it. Seems with the change of location, HITS Indio is headed for big exciting changes in lots of other ways. Read more
McGuinness and Rich Fellers take the Indio $75,000 Grand Prix

Today’s Grand Prix, Footings Unlimited $75,000, would almost have been anti-climatic if the competition had been held over any other course. Olaf Peterson, Seefeld, Germany set an amazing technical, big, airy course over fences that sort of reminded me of Alice in Wonderland. Lots of color, complex optional lines, wide oxers, BIG verticals and a “Quad Rail” fence option at #8 that created lots of problems and a few chills and spills.
