JUNE 9, 2008– At the Upperville Colt & Horse Show in Upperville, VA, Sophia Gali of Potomac, MD rode her own Miss Australia to Championship honors in the Small Pony Hunters this weekend.
Sister Miranda Gali also earned ribbons in the Medium Pony Hunters. Aboard the Centennial Farm-owned Catamaran, she captured a 6th and two 7th place honors.
This is the second consecutive championship for Miss Australia. Both Gali sisters train at Brookeville, MD’s Rolling Acres Farm.
The Aiken, S.C.-based Tokaruk Show Stables wrapped up the Nashville Classic in Franklin, TN with a host of top decorations.
Michael Tokaruk was Champion in the Regular Working Hunters aboard Lindsay Strafuss’s Polaris. Strafuss herself went on to pilot the horse to the No. 1 spot in both the Pessoa/USEF Hunt Seat Medal and the ASPCA/Maclay Horsemanship class.
Client Ashley Keith, meanwhile, was also a division titleholder this week, with Reserve champ honors in the Childrens Hunter 14 & Under with her horse Lochland, while client Jaclyn Ruocco earned an 8th place with Lemon Drop in the Adult Amateur Jumpers.
Luke Tokaruk rode Elizabeth Grimes’ Roxanne to 2nd place in the Level 2 Training Jumpers then Grimes and Roxanne went on to take 5th in the Level 3 Adult Amateur Jumpers.
Luke closed out the week with a 9th place in the $30,000 Tractor Supply Music City Grand Prix aboard his own Lucius 35. In the Grand Prix, Michael captured the 11th spot with Angela Woodbury’s Shakespeare.
Also at the Upperville show this week was Missy Luczak of the Monroe, N.C.-based Hunters lane Farm. Luczak steered Robin Hughes’ Rondiamo to a several ribbons including a 3rd place in the Adult Amateur Hunters (36-45).
