Stars Line Up for Five USEF National Championships at 2008 Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF Dressage Festival of Champions

There’s Something for Everyone - Not Just Horse Fans - at the June 24-28 Fairfield County Hunt Club June Benefit Horse Show

WESTPORT, CT - June 18, 2025 - The upcoming Fairfield County Hunt Club June Benefit Horse Show, June 24-28, 2008, on the grounds of the Fairfield County Hunt Club in Westport, Connecticut, is filled with activities for the entire community to enjoy. The show is open to the public with no admission fees and features more than 700 riders competing in 200 classes over the five days of the show.

The show benefits The EQUUS Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) grant giving foundation that seeks to raise public awareness of the value of the horse in society through education and the award of grants to charities that use the horse to benefit the public, promote the health and welfare of horses, and elevate the equestrian sport as a whole.

Horse shows offer as much for spectators as the equestrians vying for the top honors, and the Fairfield show is no exception. Spectators and exhibitors can take a break from the action and browse through the shops in the Paddock Boutique featuring: Adele’s Equestrian Gifts, Bobbie Braun, Catch All, EQUUS Entries, Georgetown Stable Outfitters, M&F Antique Prints, Palm Classic Apparel, Ponymom Designs, and The Snappy Gator, as well as vendors: Agriventures Agway, Beval Saddlery, Chestnut Hill Saddlery, The Coffee Connection and Reflections Photography.

The EQUUS Foundation will also operate a boutique throughout the week and a silent auction at its Saturday luncheon. Among the wonderful items: An outing on the waters of Greenwich donated by Barton & Gray Mariners Club; golf outings at Woodway Country Club in Darien with host Roger Tarika or the Fishers Island Club with host Richard Guest; get chauffeured in a 1959 Rolls Royce courtesy of David Goodwin; a week’s vacation in Stratton; a weekend getaway in Cape Cod; a private tour at the American Museum of Natural History; two season subscriptions to the Stamford Symphony,; and a weekend at the Maidstone Arms in Easthampton.

Many local retail outlets have donated items, including Catch All, Greens Farms Spirit Shop, J. Pocker & Son, Palace Oriental Rug of Wilton, Pickets - An English Garden Shop, and Walpole Woodworkers. Clothing, jewelry and accessories have been donated by Bobbie Braun, Ponymom Designs, Silver of Westport, The Snappy Gator, Tiffany & Co., including Gucci sunglasses donated by Barbara Manion, O.D, and an Elliot Vance Carry Art Handbag. Gift certificates will be offered from Regency Limousine and local restaurants such as Gates Restaurant in New Canaan, River House Restaurant in Westport, and Osianna in Fairfield. Gift certificates for services from photographers, Ben Larrabee, Reflections Photography and Alison Wachstein will also be offered. You can pamper yourself with the gift certificate for a day at Peter Coppola Salon/Spa or take home the gift basket from Total Look Salons. Equestrian products have also been donated by Equifit and Dover Saddlery.

Special events will be held daily and include: “The Judge’s View” on Monday with Walter Jimmy Lee offering an insight into how top horse show judges assess performance in the show ring; Pony Pals on Tuesday, a program for the Club’s day camp; a Horseless Horse Show where children can jump a course of obstacles that mimics an actual show jumping competition and a Fashion Show featuring clothing by The Snappy Gator and jewelry by Lux, Bond & Green on Wednesday; the New Country Lexus of Westport Exhibitor Barbecue on Thursday; a Dog Obedience presentation by Sally Sizer of Dog Gone Smart on Friday along with a Cigar & Malt Scotch Tasting with M&M Cigars and SKYY Spirits. The show culminates with the EQUUS Benefit Luncheon & $25,000 Grand Prix presented by Wachovia Securities, LLC and George N. Venizelos on Saturday.
