Bumper Royal Windsor enjoys five superb days

Brilliant sunshine and record temperatures set the seal on a glorious Royal Windsor Horse Show 2008 with huge crowds enjoying five days of superb competition.

The traditional start to the outdoor show season was given a boost this year with the return of international show jumping after 10 years. Fourteen senior British riders lined up against competitors from eight countries ‑ Ireland, France, Spain, Russia, Sweden, Jordan, Argentina and Portugal. Read more

With warm weather forecasted to arrive next Wednesday, Windsor is truly set to be the start of the equestrian summer season. This is the most beautiful setting for any showground in England, the trees are in their green, the marquees are sparkling and it is all set against the contantly spectacular backdrop of Windsor Castle. Royal Windsor Horse Show takes place this year from 8 - 11 May and there is plenty to look forward to

International Show Jumping will be back at Windsor this year, for the first time in eight years. The Show becomes a three star FEI event and is expected to attract some top international and national riders. Top riders to compete at Royal Windsor Horse Show

If you are suffering from withdrawal symptoms from not seeing your favourite British Riders competing, then look no further. The entries for Royal Windsor Horse Show have closed and in the Show Jumping classes an incredible 15 out of the top 20 ranked British riders have entered, including family clan, and ranked by the BSJA (governing body) at 1, 2 and 3: Michael, John and Robert Whitaker. Youth in the Whitaker family appears to be taking over. Not Ellen, this time it is young Robert Whitaker, age 23, who showed his Uncle Michael how it should be done claiming a .78 seconds victory in Sunday’s Windsor Grand Prix. Read more

Windsor Castle is once again bubbling with activity this weekend as the host of The Royal Windsor Horse Show. The Royal Windsor is somewhat unique in that it is perhaps the only show that I am aware of that bans dogs from attending. Read more
